Until 2000, Berry Behrendt worked for numerous renowned lifestyle magazines such as Elle, Brigitte, Maxi, Max and others. During this time, he also discovered his particular passion for portraits of musicians - a subject area that was to have a lasting impact on his artistic style.
His expressive works quickly attracted attention in the USA. He soon had the opportunity to work with some of the most influential musicians of the time, including the likes of Jay-Z, Missy Elliott, Kanye West, Busta Rhymes and Moby.
Driven by growing recognition in the American music scene and a great love, Berry decided to move to New York in 2000. There, he expanded his work as a fashion and portrait photographer to include increasingly artistic projects that allowed him new forms of expression.
Since 2015, Berry Behrendt has been living and working in his hometown of Hamburg again, where he continues his photographic work with unwavering passion.
